After being out of town, it was time to regroup at Casa Krift. We got a new A/C unit on Thursday. So if you are keeping track, yes we did replace the whole HVAC system in 2 months. Thank god the house is cool in this 90 degree weather.
On Friday we did happy hour at Joel's house with the GE gang, which is always a good time. On Saturday we mulched and Larry and Kenzie came over to help us. We borrowed Larry's truck to haul the mulch, and then he helped put it out, while I cooked dinner. Of course we ran out before finishing and the place closed at 5, but the front yard is done!. We love having the other Krift family in Lexington! Such good friends.
Sunday we traveled up north to Alexandria for the Memorial day parade and Uncle Alex's annual BBQ. Good food and good times to be had. Madison loved watching the parade with boy Jordan's grandma, she did really well with the firetrucks and all the different noises.
Up close and loving her baby blues! She looked adorable in her patriotic outfit. A big thank you to my mom for getting the outfit for her, loved the little shorts on her.
And being the mother that I am, I made sure we all wore red, white and blue. Of course!
It was extremely hot out and Madison became miserable in the heat. With the extreme teething and the heat she loved chewing/sucking on the bottom of a beer can It looked like she was shotgunning the beer and so of course we took a picture. Don't worry, she consumed no beer.
Madison had a sleepover with Reid, Jordan and Jorden's son, but it was short lived and he woke up from is nap. They are only 9 months apart, but look at the size difference! He is EXTREMELY cute and fun to be around, I am obsessed with looking at pictures of him. He walks all over the place and gave Madison some kisses. They are cousins so there will be no dating in the future.
We enjoyed seeing Rhonda and Frank and Meagan and Ryan and all the other Futschers. Madison loves all her crazy and entertaining "aunts" from the Futscher family.
On Monday I painted 4 out of the 10 shutters on our house. I of course left the top 6 for last. They look so much better than before but it is will be scary painting up high in the air.
Monday night we went downtown to Bret's coworker, Tiffany's, apartment for a BBQ. Good company and good food, but Madison was unfortunately exhausted from a long weekend and wasn't sleeping well, so we ended up having to go home. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend. Madison looked adorable and we had tons of fun. We need to have 3 day weekends more often.
